Gli album si possono creare con qualsiasi cosa: ne ho visti fatti con le buste del pane, con i filtri del caffe (quelli per le caffettiere americane), semplici fogli tenuti insieme da anelli,... Io solitamente, comunque, uso quelli già pronti sia quelli adatti allo scrap, in cui le pagine sono all'interno di plastiche protettive, sia quelli che si trovano nei negozi di fotografia specializzati.
Le vere scrapper, poi, usano questa particolare arte per creare anche biglietti di Natale, d'auguri, e per qualsiasi occasione.
I materiali del mestiere sono pressochè infiniti e, benchè ne esistono di creati appositamente, molti sono di recupero, come carte, cartoncini, timbri, inchiostri, pennarelli, forbici sagomate, stampanti, washi tape, stoffe, ecc... E poi macchinari più complessi come la Sizzix...
A couple of years ago I found casually this wonderful hobby called SCRAPBOOKING. I don't know if in italian there's a word for it but it's nothing more but the decoration of pages of an album, where you attach photos. The decoration usually is going along with the pics that are included.
Albums can be created with many things: I saw some made with brown bags, American coffee filters, simple pieces of paper held together with scrapbook rings...
Usually, I use albums ready to be decorated, where pages are in protective plastic bags, and I use also those sold in photography shops.
Real scrappers use this art also to create Christmas, birthday and any occasion cards.
The materials that can be used are infinte and, even if there's a lot created for this purpose, many are recycled, like cards, papers, stamps, inks, markers, pretty scissors, printers, washi tapes, fabric, etc... Then there are more complex and expensive things like the Sizzix machine....
or the Cricut.
Il procedimento per creare una pagina scrap è molto semplice: si scelgono delle foto (di una gita, una giornata particolare,...), si sceglie come disporle sulla pagina e prima di incollarle si crea lo sfonto, si incollano le foto e poi si passa al decoro vero e proprio. Di solito si aggiunge anche una frase o un commento alla foto stessa.
Inutile dirvi che internet è una inesauribile fonte di ispirazione ma anche ricca di diti specializzati dove si trovano spiegazioni dettagliate di tutte le varie tecniche, ricchi di consigli e dove trovare modi originali di riciclo!!
Personalmente trovo che sia un'attività estremamente rilassante e che non richiede un impegno gravoso e, soprattutto, la si può interrompere e riprendere in seguito. A me capita di non avere dei particolari decori o carte e so che posso aggiungerli in seguito.

The procedure to create a scrap page is easy: you choose some pics ( a trip, a special day...) , you decide how to put them in the page and before sticking them you create the background and then you can start with the real decore. Usually a quote is added or some comments of the picture itself.
Useless to say that the internet is a good resourche of inspiration but also full of websites where you can find explanations of all the tecniques, full of advices and to find ways to recycle things for it!!
Personally I think it's an extremely relazing activity that doesn't require a full commitment and, most importantly, you can interrupt it and re-start when you want.
