Quando era in lavorazione IL GRANDE GATSBY di Baz Luhrman con Leonardo Di Caprio non sapevo molto di quello di cui si trattava.
Così, appena ho visto che la Newton Compton ha fatto quella collezione i libri classici a 1€ l'ho preso subito.
Dire che l'ho divorato è solo la verità!
When THE GREAT GATSBY movie by Baz Luhrman with Leonardo Di Caprio was work in progress I didn't know much about it.
So, as soon as I found that the Newton Compton started a classic books collection at 1€ each I bought it immediately.
And saying that I read it in a heartbeat is only the right thing!
È vero che è un libro piccolo ma mi è piaciuto davvero molto e soprattutto mi è piaciuto molto il modo di scrivere di FITZGERALD.
La storia di un uomo, Jay Gatsby, che non ha mai dimenticato la donna che ha conosciuto e della quale si è innamorato durante la guerra, Daisy Buchanan, ogni sera dà delle feste e invita un sacco di persone, nella speranza che lei arrivi.
La sua fortuna (o sfortuna) vuole che proprio accanto alla sua bellissima casa vada ad abitare il cugino di Daisy, Nick Carrawy, che è il narratore della storia, e diventando suo amico rientra in contatto con Daisy.
I know, it's a small book but I really loved it and I liked Fitzgerald's writing.
This is the story of a man, Jay Gatsby, that has never forgotten the woman he met and fell in love with during the war, Daisy Buchanan, and every night he has huge parties at his house, inviting lots of people, hoping that she comes.
His luck (or not) wants that right next to his beautiful house goes to live Daisy's cousin, Nick Carraway, which is the narrator of our story, and becoming his friend he finally gets back in touch with Daisy.
Il mio ovviamente è solo un riassunto striminzito, ma la storia è molto più profonda di questo.
Ho amato molto questo libro, ma ho molto apprezzato anche i film. Ho visto prima quello con Leonardo Di Caprio, e l'altro giorno ho visto quello con Robert Redford. Se devo essere sincera, mi è piaciuto molto di più il film con Robert Redford, non so spiegare il perchè. Forse potrei stare qui a parlare con voi per una giornata intera raccontandovi cosa mi è piaciuto di uno e cosa dell'altro ma non mi sembra il caso.

I really loved this book, and I liked a lot the movies, too. I saw first the one with Leonardo Di Caprio, and the other day I saw the one with Robert Redford. I must be honest, I liked better the one with Robert Redford, I don't know why, I just do. I could probably stay here with you to talk about all those things I liked and didn't like about one and the other but I don't think it's right!
Molto bello anche quello uscito l'anno scorso, comunque, e per me Di Caprio è sempre una garanzia. C'è lui, il film è bello!!! Mi dispiace per questo commento, ma io sono innamorata di lui da quando ha fatto Romeo, anche quello un film di Baz Luhrman.
Una cosa che ho notato è che i vestiti di Gatsby/Redford e Gatsby/Di Caprio erano uguali. Ora non ricordo se nel libro venivano descritti, ma mi è piaciuto molto il fatto che abbiano riportato anche i vestiti nella versione più recente.
Voi l'avete letto? Avete visto qualcuno dei due film?!?

Anyway I liked the one of the last yeat, and to me Leonardo Di Caprio is a certainty. If there's him, than the movie is beautiful!!! I'm sorry for this comment, but I fell in love with him when he played Romeo, an other Baz Luhrman movie.
One thing that I noticed is that the two Gatsbys clothes are very much alike. I don't really remember if the book they're described, but I really liked that in the newest movie.
