Salone del libro 2014 (book fair)

Finisce oggi il Salone del Libro di Torino. Se ve lo siete persi, peggio per voi!!! :-D

Ends today Turin's Book Fair. If you missed it, well I'm sorry for ya!!! :-D

Io lo adoro e ci vado tutti gli anni. E tutti gli anni mi lamento che i libri dovrebbero essere scontati e non allo stesso prezzo che hanno nelle librerie, per incentivare le vendite in salone. E tutti gli anni, comunque, compero una marea di cose!!
Come consuetudine io e Fede ce lo siamo girato tutto ( ma tutto tutto) e come sempre ho visto tanti (forse troppi?) piccoli editori che hanno in catalogo dei libri molto belli ma che non riescono a vendere come meriterebbero.

I love it and I visit it every year. And every year here I am, complaining about the prices of the books that must cost less than it does in libraries, to have more sells during the fair. And every year, anyway, I buy too many things!!
As usual, Fede and I saw it all ( and by all I really mean it!) and as usual I saw lots (maybe too many?) little editors that have listed really good books but they can't sell as well as they deserve to.

E dato che c'eravamo, abbiamo comprato il regalo per la festa della mamma per la nostra (i libri di Castle!). Anche se forse pensavamo anche un pò a noi, come ben sapete!!!

Being there we took the chance and got something for mothers' day for our mom ( Castle's books!).
But maybe we were thinking about us, too, as you might guess!!! 

 

Abbiamo incontrato moltissime scuole, soprattutto superiori e medie ma anche alcune elementari e un asilo, e, con mia sorpresa, ho notato che molti, se non addirittura tutti, avevano un sacchetto con dei libri dentro. Finalmente!!! Alla faccia di chi dice che siamo un paese che non legge! Speriamo che la cosa continui!

We also met so many school classes, mainly high and middle schoolers, but also elementary and a kindergarten, and, I was so surprised to notice that almost every kid, if not all of them, had a little bag with books in it. Finally! And to those who say that this is a country were people don't read: IN YOUR FACE! I just hope this will continue!

Salone del Libro 2013 (book fair)

In questi giorni qui a Torino c'è l'annuale, popolatissimo, amatissimo, Salone del Libro!
Noi abbiamo fatto un salto veloce giovedí perchè volevamo andare alla Presentazione del Libro senza Libro di Maghetta Stregetta, alla quale tenevo molto! Quindi abbiamo mangiato, aspettato che arrivasse nostra madre dal lavoro per tenere il Nano e siamo partite subito!
Per fortuna abbiamo trovato lo stand della Mondadori Electa quasi subito, e lì abbiamo visto lei, Iaia, timida, dolcissima, carinissima col suo bel vestitino nero, capelli lunghissimi e liscissimi, che cercava di nascondersi dalle attenzione, con pochissimo successo dato che la star era lei!! Sono riuscita a farle questa foto mentre ci offriva dei dolcetti siciliani che ha portato!!!

In these days here in Turin we have the yearly, super visited, a deeply loved, Salone del Libro (book fair)!
We went there quickly thursday because we wanted to go to Maghetta Stregetta's Book Presentation without Book, to which I really wanted to go to! So we ate, waited for our mom to come home from work to babysit the Kid and we went immediately!
Luckily we found right away Mondadori Electa's stand, and there we saw her, Iaia, shy, sweet, so cute with her little black dress, really long and straight hair, that was trying to hide from all the attention she was having, but a little success, since she was the star!! I managed to take this pic to her while she was giving us sicilian sweets she brought!!!
