Quando il film stava per uscire, molti bloggers e youtubers ne parlavano bene e allora mi sono decisa a leggerlo (dopo aver letto la trama!)
Mi ricordo ancora l'anno scorso, primo giorno di saldi, la gente normale faceva la coda fuori dai negozi di abbigliamento per accapararsi le occasioni migliori, mentre io entravo nella libreria più vicina!
Era deserta, c'erano pochissime persone, senza contare i commessi, e uscii tutta felice con i miei libri nuovi tra le mani (al momento IL CANTO DELLA RIVOLTA non era ancora uscito in Italia).
The first
time I heard about Hunger Games was when the movie was going to be made, but I had other
3000 books to read so I totally forgot about it.
When the
movie was about to be released, many bloggers and youtubers were talking about
it really good so I decided to read it ( after reading the plot!).
I still
remember the last year, fist sale day, normal people queuing in front of
clothes shops to get the best stuff, while I was going to the nearest library!
It was
deserted, really few people, not counting the shop assistants, and I went out
all happy with my new books ( at the moment MOCKINGJAY had not been released yet
in Italy).
Per quelli che ancora non la conoscono (VERGOGNA!!), la trilogia è ambientata in Nord America (in un futuro non specificato), dove a seguito di una sanguinosa guerra è stata creata una nazione nota come Panem, divisa in dodici distretti , suddivisi in base alle attività lavorative che vi si svolgono (per esempio il 12° caratterizzato dalle miniere e dal carbone che da esse viene ricavato), che ruotano attorno alla Capitale.
Nella Capitale si vive in tranquillità e ricchezza, a discapito dei 12 distretti. Ogni anno, come monito per la popolazione (ma anche come divertimento per la gente della Capitale), vengono organizzati gli "Hunger Games". I partecipanti, un ragazzo e una ragazza di l'età tra i 12 e i 18 anni, vengono selezionati per estrazione (o per autocandidatura) in ogni distretto e il gioco altro non è che una lotta per la sopravvivenza: i ragazzi si devono uccidere l'un l'altro per la vittoria. Il vincitore, ovvero l'unico sopravvissuto, vivrà nel lusso, nella ricchezza e nel rimorso, nel proprio distretto, e potrà diventare il mentore per i prossimi tributi.
For those
of you who still don’t know what it’s about (SHAME ON YOU!!) the trilogy is set
in North America ( in an unclear future), where after a bloody war a nation was
created, called Panem. Divided in 12 districts, each with a specific activity
they’re characterized by ( e.g. 12th district had mines and coal
from which it’s taken from), who revolve all around the Capitol. In the Capitol
people live quietly and in richness, at the expenses of the 12 districts. Each year,
as a reminder for the people ( but also for the Capitol people entertainment),
are hosted the HUNGER GAMES. The partecipants, a boy and a girl between the age
of 12 and 18, are selected randomly ( or volunteer) in each district and the
game is nothing else but a fight to survive: the kids have to kill each other
to get to win. The winner, which will be
the only one to survive, will live in luxury, richness and regret, in its own district,
and gets to be a mentor for the future tributes.
La protagonista è Katniss Everdeen, che si prende cura della sua famiglia, dopo la morte del padre in un incendio in miniera, cacciando e vendendo le sue prede nel mercato nero (il Forno), ricavando qualcosa per comprare altro cibo. Questo è il primo anno in cui la sua sorellina, Prim, può essere scelta, e il caso vuole che il suo nome venga estratto. Katniss si offre volontaria al suo posto, insieme a lei c'è Peeta Mellark, figlio del panettiere. I due, sul treno che li porta verso la capitale, conoscono il loro mentore Haymitch, unico vincitore del 12° distretto, che ora è un alcolizzato, e gli spiega come comportarsi nell'arena. Una volta dentro sta tutto a loro...
The character
is Katniss Everdeen, she takes care of her family, after her father died in a
mine explosion, hunting and selling the game she gets to the black market (the
Hob), earning something to get other food. This is the fist year her sister,
Prim, might be chose, and the fate wants it to happen. Katniss volonteers for
her; with her there’s Peeta Mellark, the baker’s son. The two of them, on the
train that will get them to the Capitol, get to know their mentor, Haymitch,
only winner of the 12th district, which is an alcoholic now, and
will tell them how to behave in the arena. Once they’re in it’s all in their
hands…
Katniss nei film ha il volto della bellissima, simpaticissima e bravissima Jennifer Lawrence (vincitrice Oscar 2013 per Silver Lining Playbook come miglior attrice protagonista).
La settimana prossima esce il film tratto dal secondo libro LA RAGAZZA DI FUOCO, quindi non mi resta che dirvi MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR.
Katniss has is played by the beautiful, super funny and really talented Jennifer Lawrence ( 2013 Oscar winner for Silver Lining Playbook as best actress)
The next week the movie from the second book, CATCHING FIRE, comes out, so I have nothing else to tell you but MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR.
