Sabato sera io e il marito siamo stati a vedere lo spettacolo del "Cirque du Soleil". Quest'anno proponevano "Dralion" che è una fusione tra le tecniche del circo classico cinese (rappresentato dal drago) e le moderne tecniche circensi occidentali (rappresentate dal leone).Filo conduttore dello spettacolo è la fusione tra uomo e natura e i quattro elementi prendono forma umana (terra è vestita in ocra, acqua in verde, aria in blu e fuoco in rosso) mentre le figure che rappresentano l'armonia tra gli elementi sono vestite in oro e sono anche i cantanti della colonna sonora. Lo sfondo è una costruzione di circa 18 metri di lunghezza e 8 di altezza e ricorda un forte o un tempio cinese. Sull'esterno sono presenti delle piattaforme che servono per alcuni numeri dello spettacolo.
A me è piaciuto moltissimo e devo dire che le performance sono state per la maggior parte bellissime e coinvolgenti. I miei preferiti sono stati i trampolini: quei pazzi saltavano giù dalla struttura di fondo e ci risalivano, si scambiavano di posto in volo,... una roba pazzesca!
Un'altro numero che ci è piaciuto molto è stato quello di una ragazza che fa delle robe assurde appesa a un cavo e con il solo ausilio di un cerchio (sfortunatamente non ho trovato foto a riguardo!!). Strano, ma in senso buono, è stato anche il numero con le bandiere, che non erano tradizionale ma si sviluppavano in altezza e questi ragazzi le facevano girare come se fossero state alte 10 cm! E che dire di quelli che saltavano tra dei cerchi impilati uno sull'altro? Erano talmente veloci che sembrava ce ne fossero milioni sul palco (anche se poi in realtà erano veramente tanti!!).
Saturday night the Husband and I went to see the "Cirque du Soleil" show. This year they proposed "Dralion", which is a fusion between the classic chinese circus tecniques ( represented by the dragon) and the western modern circus tecniques ( represented by the lion). Common thread in the show is the fusion between man and nature and the four elements coming to life in human form ( Earth is dressed in ocher, Water in green, Air in blue and Fire in red) while those who represent the harmony are dressed in gold and are, also, the singers of the soundtrack. The background is a construction of about 18 metres tall and 8 long and reminds a fort or a chinese temple. On the outside there are many platforms that are used in the show.
I really loved it and I must say that their performances were, for most of the time, beautiful and engaging. My faves were the trampolines: those crazy people were jumping from the construction and climbed up, changing place while they were "flying"... crazy stuff! An other number that we both liked very much one where there was a girl doing amazing stuff hanging by a cable and only using a big ring (unfortunately I couldn't find pics of this!!). Weird, but in a good way, was the number with the flags, which wasn't traditional but it was developing in height and these guys where making them sping like they were little! And what to say about those who jumped into rings on the other? There were so quick that it seemed like they were a million on the stage ( also if they are a lot anyway!!)
