Getting Educated

Venerdì siamo andate in centro a vedere (finalmente!!) The Human Body Exhibition. Doveva durare fino a gennaio, poi l'hanno estesa fino ad aprile e ora fino al 5 maggio. Menomale, perchè non eravamo ancora riuscite ad andare. Poi ci siamo decise e ci siamo dette "Ora o mai più...anche perchè poi la tolgono!!!!". Siamo partite presto da casa di Ale, lasciato il nano con nostra madre (che era felicissima di badare da sola a lui dato che da novembre non l'ha più potuto fare perchè è caduta e si è slogata la spalla!).

Friday we went to the city to see (finally!) The Human Body Exhibition. It should have had to last until january, then it was extended to april and now until the 5th of may. Luckily, so we got the chance to finally go. Then we decided and we said "It's now or never...because they'll take the exhibith away!!!!".

So we took off from Ale's house, left the little guy with our mom (which was more than happy to look after him all alone, since she didn't get the chance to do it since november when she dislocated her shoulder!).

Per chi non lo sa ancora, The Human Body Exhibition è una mostra dove ci sono dei corpi donati volontariamente e legalmente alla scienza, di persone morte per cause naturali, plastilinizzati, e, una volta che non saranno più usati per scopi educativi, i corpi verranno cremati.

E' una mostra che consiglio solo a chi non si impressiona facilmente, che è curioso di conoscere l'anatomia umana, anche solo per divertimento, come noi.

L'ho trovata molto bella, educativa, soprattutto perchè c'erano delle scolaresche, con relativa guida, che noi pensiamo siano studenti di medicina, e chi meglio di loro può fare da guida ad una mostra del genere?!?!
La mostra è divisa in sezioni, come l'apparato respiratorio e l'apparato riproduttivo e ci sono i corpi messi in posa, per mostrare le loro caratteristiche fisiologiche e il loro funzionamento nelle attività comuni.
Per quanto riguarda l'apparato riproduttivo, c'è una sezione dove sono in mostra i feti (ovviamente donati volontariamente in seguito ad aborti spontanei, aborti terapeutici,o presi da madri morte) dove si possono vedere le diverse fasi della gravidanza. Prima di entrare in questa sezione dicono che se si è troppo sensibili si consiglia di non entrare, infatti è in una rientranza coperta da teli, e si passa accanto non si vede nulla.
Uscite di lì abbiamo preso il pullman e siamo andate a mangiare in un ristorantino giapponese in C.so Inghilterra, che si chiama Dod's Sushi.


For those of you who don't know, The Human Body Exhibition is an exhibition (really?!?) where there are bodies donated voluntarily and legally to science, of people who died of natural causes, plasticizied, and once they are no longer used for educational purposes, the bodies will be cremated.
It's a show that I recommend only to those who do not get impressed easily, that are curious to know about human anatomy, even just for fun, like us.
I found it very beautiful, educational, especially because there were schoolchildren, with guides, which we think are medical students, and who better than them can act as a guide to a show like this?!?!
The exhibition is divided into sections, such as the respiratory and reproductive systems, and there are the bodies that are posing, to show their physiological characteristics and their functioning in everyday activities.
About the reproductive system, there is a section where they are on display fetuses (obviously voluntarily donated as a result of spontaneous abortions, therapeutic abortions, or taken from dead mothers) where you can see the different stages of pregnancy. Before you enter this section says that if you are too sensitive you should not enter, it is in a recess covered with lenght of cloths, and you pass by can not see anything.
Out of there we took the bus and went to eat in a little japanese, restaurant in Corso Inghilterra, called Dod's Sushi.

All'inizio abbiamo preso due menù medi, perchè avevamo proprio voglia di mangiare sushi!!!! Ci piace un sacco!!!!. Poi avevamo ancora fame e abbiamo preso 1 menù del giorno da dividere in 2, soprattutto perchè c'erano gli onigiri, che io è una vita che volevo provare, poi c'era la zuppa che aveva miso, tofu e wakame (per niente buona), c'era l'insalata con una salsina strana sopra, ma niente male, del riso e dei futomaki.

At first we got two medium menus, because we really wanted to eat sushi!!! We really love it!!! Then we were still hungry and we ordered a menu of the day, mostly because there were onigiri, and I've been wanting to eat theme since forever, then there was a soup with miso, tofu and wakame (no good at all), some salad with a weird but good dressing, some rice and futomaki.

Poi abbiamo fatto ancora un giro per passare il tempo, perchè alle 4 dovevo andare dal dentista, e ho visto questa foto di Nicki Minaj, che a me non mi fa impazzire, ma in qui mi piaceva troppo e ve la volevo far vedere!!!!

Then we had still time to stay out, because at 4 p.m. I had to go to the dentist, and I saw this nice pic of Nicki Minaj, which I don't really like much, but I liked how she looked in this one and I wanted to show you!!!

Poi il tempo ha iniziato a far schifo e per allora per fortuna eravamo al coperto e, come potete vedere dai miei bellissimi stivaletti da pioggia, fa ancora schifo!!! :-D

Then the weather started to be crappy and luckily we were indoors and, as you can see from my beautiful rain boots, it still sucks!!! :-D
