Per festeggiare ieri le abbiamo preparato il risotto alla liquirizia, che a lei piace da impazzire.
La ricetta è stata adattata da una ricetta del grande e fantastico Alessandro Borghese.
E' stata molto adattata, anche perchè abbiamo deciso di farlo all'ultimo minuto!
Today's our mom's birthday!!!
To celebrate yesterday we made her liquorice risotto, which she adores.
The recipe was adapted from a recipe by the one and only Alessandro Borghese.
And by adapted, I mean a LOT adapted, because we decided to make it last minute!
Ecco come abbiamo fatto:
Abbiamo usato solo una manciata di riso (scusate, nessuna precisione oggi, ma di solito noi a casa usiamo un pugno di riso a persona!!!)

Here's how we made it:
We got a fistful of rice (sorry, no precision today, but usually at home we use a fistfull of rice per person!!!)

Le abbiamo usate per fare il brodino con cui ogni tanto allungare il riso. Prima di buttare il riso in pentola abbiamo fatto friggere un pò di soffritto, poi abbiamo aggiunto il riso, fatto rosolare un pochino e poi abbiamo iniziato ad aggiungere il brodino.
We used them to make the broth with which we drowned the rice! Before tossing the rice in the pan we fried a bit of onion and carrot, we then added rice, let it brown a bit and then started adding the broth.
Quando era quasi pronto abbiamo aggiunto un pezzetto piccolo di burro.
Ed era pronto!
When it was almost ready we added a bit of butter.
And then it was ready!
Non sapeva moltissimo di liquirizia, forse perchè avremmo dovuto aggiungere qualche radice in più o farle bollire di più, ma sono contenta che a mamma sia piaciuto comunque.
It didn't taste very much like liquorice, maybe because we should have added some roots more or we should have let it boil a bit more, but I'm glad mom liked it anyway.
E non è stata l'unica! Ha dovuto dividerlo con il Nano!!!
And she wasn't the only one! She shared it with the Kid, who loved it, too!!!
